EMS “Star of Life” Award 2004

Members of the Franklin Township Rescue Squad responded to an emergency call on Mountain View Road East. This call was for a known Officer of Washington Township who was shot three times while on a motor vehicle stop. This award was presented to all those who helped with the life saving effort. Those members from Franklin Township Rescue Squad are: Karen Chiu, Carrie Dubiel, Kevin Murray, Cathy Pineno, Shawna Tabert, and Steven Tabert.

Extrication Saves

 

May 2007—Asbury-Broadway Rd. and Mountain View Rd. for a motor vehicle accident. Asbury Fire Co. assisted on the extrication along with our member Diane Golden. The driver suffered a broken neck from the accident, but made a full recovery.

7/21/2007—Route 57 and Asbury-Broadway Rd. for a motor vehicle accident. Car vs. Box Truck with vehicle fire. Those who worked the spreaders, made cuts, ran the power unit that received Extrication Saves are: Thomas Cicerelle, Michael Hoser, Shawna Tabert, and Steven Tabert.

8/7/2007—Route 57 in front of Warren County Vo-Tech for a motor vehicle accident. The driver was entrapped and the driver’s side door was popped. The Task Force was dispatched and several people received Extrication awards for their efforts in saving the life of the driver. Our member Steven Tabert received an award.

11/18/2007—2460 Route 57 Car vs. Dump Truck. The driver of the car was pinned in the car by the dashboard and the drivers side door. Efforts to extricate the patient was successful. Mutual Aid Company, Washington Emergency Squad was called in to assist with the extrication. Among those receiving awards was our member Shawna Tabert, for helping with the life saving efforts.

CPR Saves  

11/21/2009– Responded to a uncon/unresponsive hunter in a motorvehicle.  found pluseless and initiated CPR with help from bystanders - got pulse back upon arrival @ the Er.

 

12/25/2007– Members responded Christmas day to a syncope call which upon arrival turned into an unconscious and unresponsive patient, with no respirations and negative pulse. Members were able to get a pulse back before arriving at the hospital. Due to a quick response and life saving efforts, the patient made a full recovery and was sent home from the hospital three days later. Members receiving the CPR Save award are: Karen Chiu, Michael Hoser, Shawna Tabert, and Steven Tabert.

1/11/2008—Members responded to a early morning call for an unconscious, unresponsive 1 month old infant, not breathing. CPR was started upon arrival at the scene. A pulse was present upon arrival at the hospital and the infant made a recovery. Members receiving the CPR Save award are: Irene Brownell, Karen Chiu, Diane Golden, Michael Hoser, Steven Tabert, and Shawna Vliet.

Those members that respond to over 100 calls in a calendar year are recognized for their hours of volunteer service to the community. Members receiving recognition are: Karen Chiu and Steven Tabert.
